4 cool men’s outerwear trends to shop for this fall
One of the many reasons we look forward to the men’s fall/winter
fashion weeks is to check out the myriad of men’s outerwear trends arriving for the upcoming seasons. Proper outerwear is arguably one of the most important sartorial investment pieces for anyone living in the Northern Hemisphere. Dotting the AW21 runways of Prada and Balenciaga, Loewe, Wales Bonner, and a dozen others, these were the four men’s coat trends in abundance. Here’s where to shop for them.
1. Classic check
If you haven’t yet relished in the check trend, now is the time. The classic print was in high demand at the Fall/Winter 2021 shows with A.P.C., Ymc You Must Create, and Paltò among its strongest supporters.
2. Pattern play
Fall/Winter 2021 isn’t the season to be pattern-adverse for men looking to up their outerwear game. Bold prints were in abundance at the Tagliatore, Off Duty, and Kenzo F/W shows.
3. Shackets
The shacket’s (i.e. shirt-jacket combo) cozy appeal was made abundantly clear on the runways of A Bathing Ape, Sandro, and Ami. The comeback kid of outerwear, dress up your shacket with business-like cuts and tailoring.
4. Olive green
A cold-weather classic, dark olive green coats were in plenty at the AW21 shows. Lanvin, Prada, and Hermes gave their take on the earth-toned style, reigniting our love for the colour.
